About The Becca Strelitz Internship Program
This position is part of the Becca Strelitz Internship Program. Becca lived a life full of love and passion; she was grounded in knowing who she was and what she wanted to do. She first joined our organization as an intern in 2011. Over time, she became one of our best and brightest community organizers.
What You’ll Do
You will report to the Senior Program Associate, working closely with our advocacy team with these areas of responsibility:
In addition to your regular responsibilities, all staff are expected to participate at some level in organizational priorities including helping in certain fundraising efforts, taking part in our election-related activities, and committing to our organizational efforts around equity & inclusivity.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position has a strong interest in protecting Colorado’s environment and communities, state legislation, and has a true desire to learn more about conservation policy and politics. Specific requirements include:
This position does not have an undergraduate education requirement. Spanish/English bilingual is a skill we value, but it is not a requirement for this role.
Compensation:
The pay rate for this role is $15.87 per hour. This is a part-time position (10-20 hours per week) with some flexibility in the exact schedule. Some evening and weekend work hours may occur.
You will gain direct experience working with seasoned and knowledgeable political and environmental professionals at one of Colorado’s leading conservation organizations. Throughout the course of the internship, you’ll have the opportunity to network at political and environmental events. Additionally, letters of recommendation may also be provided upon request (and course credit, if applicable). Opportunities for full-time employment at Conservation Colorado do occasionally occur, and interns are eligible to apply.
