COBA Members

COBA members advocate for public lands and our environment on social media, in press statements, through letters-to-the-editor and opinion editorials, via sign-on letters, in meetings with decision makers, at the Capitol, and in DC. COBA has been raising awareness and addressing our most important public lands and environmental issues in Colorado since 2016.

COBA Member Testimonials

“These public lands support diverse economic interests, including an outdoor recreation economy that’s estimated to be as large as the auto industry and pharmaceutical industry combined, at $887 billion.” – COBA’s own Gabe Kiritz wrote this blog asking Senator Gardner to stand up for our public lands.

“Most of our employees are hired locally, with a talent pool emerging between outdoor enthusiasts, as well as energy and construction workers. We are also proud to work with local fabricators, machinists, and engineers to create innovative adventures for participants.” – Sarah Shrader of Bonsai Design makes an argument for moving the Outdoor Retailer Show to Colorado in this op-ed

“Thus, I would hope that we continue to put in the elbow grease and collaboratively preserve the very landscapes that both trained and supported military personnel as they prepared for war and that today, nourish us — mind, body and spirit.” – Nic Gray of Hyprloco wrote this op-edregarding his experience with the military, entrepreneurship, and the outdoors

“Eighteen years ago, when my wife, Kim, and I started a company named GoLite to help people lighten up and enjoy the outdoors more, we considered literally all 50 states to base it in. We chose Colorado. Almost two decades later, older, wiser and more experienced, I’ve made the same choice of home base again for My Trail, because I believe this is the best place on Earth to headquarter a global outdoor brand.” – Demetri Coupounas of My Trail Co wrote this op-edabout businesses protecting public lands

“[Our business partners] value the cachet that comes with having an office in Colorado, and the pulse it provides on the Rocky Mountain region. They marvel at the grandeur, natural wonder, openness, freedom and sense of rugged pioneering spirit that still exists here… all waypoints that are all essential to the Mountain Khakis brand.” – Jen Taylor Muhr of Mountain Khakis wrote this op-ed on Grand Valley’s public lands
