Maria L. Handley, a native of Colorado has spent the last 15 years working in campaigns and elections. Her campaign experience includes working for Governor Howard Dean on his presidential bid and electing former Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar to the U.S. Senate in 2004. In 2005, Governor Howard Dean appointed Maria to serve on the Democratic National Committee, where she served on the Executive Committee and the Hispanic Caucus. After working for America Votes, she recently launched Generation Latino to organize the collective energy, imagination and creativity of the Colorado Latino community and channeling their ideas into policies that will build a path to better jobs, higher wages, affordable healthcare, accessible education, and immigration reform.
In 2014, she joined the board of Conservation Colorado where she currently serves as Secretary.
In her off time, you can find Maria traveling across Colorado visiting local quilt shops looking for that perfect fabric. Under the name of Progressive Patchworks, Maria designs quilts for friends and family.
