Suzanne “Zan” Jones

In addition to being a longstanding board member of the Colorado Environmental Coalition and now Conservation Colorado, Suzanne Jones Executive Director of Eco-Cycle, a 39-year old community non-profit dedicated to promoting and implementing recycling, composting and other zero waste efforts. She was recently elected Mayor of Boulder after serving on the Boulder City Council since 2012. For 16 years, she worked for The Wilderness Society as the Central Rockies Regional Director leading coalition efforts to collaboratively protect our nation’s public lands and improve their management. Before moving back to Colorado where she spent much of her youth, Suzanne worked in Washington, D.C. as the National Wildlife Federation’s legislative representative on endangered species issues, and as congressional staff for the Fisheries & Wildlife Subcommittee in the U.S. House of Representatives. Suzanne has a M.S. in Resource Policy and Management from the University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources and a B.S. in Natural Resources from Cornell University.
