Michal (aka “Micha”) grew up trail running and climbing in the coastal foothills of northern California. After graduating from UC Berkeley, she spent four years lobbying on climate and agriculture policy in Washington D.C., organizing on fair housing issues, leading wilderness programs for youth domestically and abroad, and teaching environmental science and policy courses for high school students in western North Carolina and Maine.
Currently, Micha lives in Durango and works with communities in the southwest to protect Colorado’s beautiful public lands. She is passionate about helping people build a personal connection to their local environment and empowering them to create positive change. In her spare time, you can catch Micha hiking, skiing, or mountain biking in the San Juans.
