Patricia Ferrero – Protégete Community Organizer

Patricia Ferraro Protegete community organizer bio headshotThe daughter of Spanish immigrants, Patricia grew up bilingual, immersed in the diverse Latino cultures of Los Angeles. She studied psychology at Boston University, and then she wandered around the world for a few years, teaching English in Thailand, working as a program coordinator in a non-profit in Guatemala, and bartending in Mexico. In 2015 she finally decided to get down to business and applied to grad school at UC Denver, where she is currently studying public health while doing awesome work in Conservation Colorado’s Protegete Program. She thinks mitigating health and environmental disparities in Latino and immigrant communities is super cool. She also likes her family, meandering about, creepily taking pictures when you are not looking, and being awkward.
