Colorado’s Black, Latinx, Indigenous, and low-income communities disproportionately experience the burdens of a changing climate and worsening pollution. Colorado needs equitable climate action in order to achieve environmental justice while also meeting the climate reduction targets established in Governor Polis’s Climate Roadmap. We need two bills to make this happen: Senate Bill 21-200, which builds on sector-specific emission targets; and House Bill 21-1266, which defines and addresses environmental justice. Both of these bills are moving through the state legislature RIGHT NOW. Urge your elected officials to support equitable climate action and pass these two bills!
