How to Vote in the Colorado State Primary Election

  • Colorado voters hold letters spelling out "Colorado Votes"

Colorado’s state primary election is on June 30th and there are important federal, state, and local races on the ballot. Now more than ever, we need elected officials who will stand strong for Colorado’s communities and our environment.

It’s up to us to elect pro-conservation leaders who are guided by facts and science and will protect public health, fight against climate change, and set our economy on a path toward recovery.

We’re here to ensure that you have all the information you need to raise your voice and cast your vote.

In Colorado, you can vote in one of three ways: mail your ballot back, drop it at a nearby ballot drop box, or vote in person.

These are the details you should know ahead of the June 30th state primary election:

  • Every Coloradan who is registered to vote at their current address will receive a ballot in the mail.
  • If you are a registered Democrat or Republican, you will be mailed the ballot of the party you are registered with. If you are an unaffiliated voter, you will receive both a democratic and a republican ballot. You can ONLY vote and return one. If you mark and return both ballots, they will both be rejected and your vote will not count.
  • You can return your ballot by mail OR drop it off at any dropbox. To find a dropbox near you, visit www.justvotecolorado.org*. To vote by mail you must mail your ballot by June 22nd.
  • If by June 22nd you have NOT received your ballot you can visit a Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC) in your county to receive a ballot. You can find a VSPC near you at justvotecolorado.org*.
  • You can make sure that you are registered to vote at your current address or register to vote for the first time by visiting www.GoVoteColorado.com. You can also register in person on the same day you vote at a voter service and polling center.

Ballots must be received by 7 PM on Tuesday, June 30th. Postmarks will not count.

The 2020 elections could not be more critical when it comes to protecting our communities, lands, air, and water. Thank you for making your voice heard!
