Just days into Colorado’s 2020 legislative session, the question Coloradans are asking this year is how our elected officials will continue to take bold, progressive action to tackle the biggest issues facing our state.

Like the 2019 session, clean air, climate action, and better protections for our lands, water, and wildlife continue to be top-of-mind for Coloradans.

From nationally leading climate policy to once-in-a-generation rules to protect public health, safety, and our environment from oil and gas drilling, Colorado’s pro-conservation legislature made great strides for the health of our environment and communities in 2019.

Now it’s time to build on that progress and protect our Colorado way of life by continuing to invest in a cleaner, brighter future for us all.

Over the next four months, we’ll work with our elected officials to take the next big steps on climate, land, and water issues to preserve what we love so much about this state.

Our top priorities this year include:

• Taking action to reach Colorado’s carbon pollution reduction goals of 50% by 2030 and 90% by 2050
• Protecting open spaces and the wildlife that call them home 
• Ensuring that there is enough water in our rivers for all users
• Prioritizing public health and safety by reining in big corporate polluters

The coming year is our opportunity to build upon the incredible conservation successes of 2019 and lead the way toward a healthier, more equitable clean energy future.
