Conservation Colorado welcomes John Magnino as new Government Affairs Director

DENVER – John Magnino will join Conservation Colorado as Senior Government Affairs Director in mid-December. In his role, Magnino will lead Conservation Colorado’s advocacy program, one of the largest in the state, at the state Capitol and state agencies.

In his role, Magnino will advocate for systemic change through laws and policies in order to ensure that our environment and communities are protected, working closely with Colorado’s decision makers and people in power.

“After an incredible experience fighting for a secure and accessible democracy under the leadership of Secretary Griswold, I am thrilled to join Conservation Colorado in the fight to protect our climate, air, land, water and communities,” Magnino said. “I am excited to get to work with the incredible team at Conservation Colorado to advance bold reforms at the Capitol and in policy-making arenas across the state.”

Magnino brings a wealth of experience to this critical role, from his work lobbying for bills to protect democracy with the secretary of state, to his work securing significant reform through the ballot initiative process and training and supporting legislators at the State Information Exchange (SiX).

“The Government Affairs director plays a critical role for our organization and leads a skilled team as they build coalitions, work with strategic partners, and expand their environmental policy expertise,” said Kelly Nordini, Conservation Colorado’s CEO. “We are excited that Magnino will represent Conservation Colorado at the Capitol and in other decision making venues to ensure we deliver on our legislative agenda.”
