Conservation Colorado’s CEO releases statement after Gov. Polis’ State of the State address

Conservation Colorado thanks Gov. Polis for focusing on climate change to protect communities

DENVER, Jan. 17, 2023 — Conservation Colorado, the largest statewide environmental organization in Colorado, applauds Governor Jared Polis for his focus on the interconnected issues of climate change, transportation, protecting our lands and waters, and affordable housing options.

“Thank you, Governor Polis, for putting a spotlight on the connections between climate change, transportation, water, and affordable housing. Everyone deserves housing they can afford in communities with less traffic and pollution,” said Kelly Nordini, CEO of Conservation Colorado.

Every Coloradan – regardless of race or income level – should have access to affordable housing that allows them the ability to live in a healthy, sustainable, and affordable environment.

Conservation Colorado will play a leading role this legislative session to make sure all Coloradans have clean air, a reliable supply of clean water, and affordable housing near clean transportation options. These priorities will help tackle both the causes and the impacts of climate change.
