Donate to Our Mission
Our mission is to protect Colorado’s climate, air, land, water and communities through organizing, advocacy and elections.
We believe in building political power to achieve real outcomes, from electing pro-conservation leaders to making progress toward hitting Colorado’s nationally-leading climate targets. Your gift strengthens our work to build collective power, positions Colorado as a national leader and creates pathways for environmental action that reach every community.
By giving to Conservation Colorado, you’ll be a vital force in protecting our environment and standing with communities most impacted by climate change and pollution. Together, we can protect Colorado’s environment and ensure a healthier future for all.
More Ways To Give
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) can be made from your IRA. You must be at least 70½ years of age at the time of the gift and your transfer must be made directly from your IRA to Conservation Colorado.
In addition to the benefits of giving, when you make a QCD directly from your IRA, it will exclude the amount donated from taxable income which may help keep you in a lower tax bracket. QCDs can also be counted towards satisfying your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year, as long as certain rules are met. Please consult your professional advisor for more information.
Your IRA administrator may not provide us with your name or contact information with your contribution. Please let us know if you are making a gift to Conservation Colorado from your IRA by emailing so we are able to send you an acknowledgement of your donation which will be needed to claim a deduction for your charitable contribution.
A gift of appreciated stock, bonds or mutual funds can be a tax-efficient way to support Conservation Colorado. These gifts can save you taxes in two ways: you receive a charitable deduction and you avoid the capital gains tax on the gift.
If your securities have depreciated, you can sell them and give the proceeds to Conservation Colorado. This may allow you to claim the loss when you file your taxes next April and take the charitable deduction for the amount of your gift.
Remember to advise your broker to include your full name and contact information when initiating the transfer so we can properly acknowledge your gift.
You can make a charitable bequest in your will or living trust, or name Conservation Colorado as a beneficiary of a retirement plan or life insurance policy to help further Conservation Colorado’s mission.
Gifts of Asset May Include:
- Cash
- Publicly traded securities
- Retirement plan assets
- Life insurance policies
- Real Estate
- Closely held securities
- Family limited partnership interests
- Collections
Please consult with your professional advisors as you consider any type of estate gift. If you would like to name Conservation Colorado in your planned giving, please email to notify us of your intentions so we can fulfill your wishes.
