Community Engagement
Community Engagement
For generations, disproportionately impacted communities – diverse communities who face higher environmental and health burdens due to pollution and climate change – have shown resilience and leadership in advocating for their rights and protecting the environment. Despite this, they have often been excluded from decision-making spaces, leaving their voices and experiences out of policies that affect their lives. Conservation Colorado is expanding our efforts across the state to ensure community members are at the forefront of creating equitable policies that protect our environment, benefit people and hold elected leaders accountable.
Empower community leaders
The lived experiences of communities affected by environmental injustice are vital to creating equitable and lasting environmental solutions. Through our free Climate Justice Leadership Academy programs, we provide mentorship, training and resources to help community members step into advocacy. Together, we’re cultivating a new generation of leaders shaping Colorado’s environmental policies.
Foster community partnerships
We partner with organizations and environmental leaders across the state to advance policies that benefit all Coloradans. Through efforts like the Colorado Outdoor Business Alliance (COBA), a network of 300+ businesses, we amplify environmental advocacy while fostering meaningful connections.
