DENVER — Conservation Colorado joins the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) and other partners across the country to call for accountability for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Trump administration for their dangerous and unlawful actions in Minnesota and across the country, which have resulted in the recent deaths of two Minnesota civilians, Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
Statement from Kelly Nordini, CEO of Conservation Colorado:
“Alex and Renee’s deaths, like many others lost in Minnesota and across the country as a result of dangerous, unlawful and unaccountable federal immigration actions, underscore the profound human cost of a democracy under threat.
“No one is safe without a strong democracy that upholds the rule of law and protects our first amendment rights. The tragic killings and brutality in Minnesota and across the country are part of a broader assault on democracy and our rights. We cannot allow public institutions to be weaponized or cruelty to be normalized. We stand with the families and communities enduring this assault and with efforts to stop these abuses. We urge Colorado’s federal elected leaders to be resolute in holding the Department of Homeland Security accountable for their reckless and unlawful actions.”
