RELEASE: Denver’s mayoral candidates share their environmental vision with Conservation Colorado Education Fund

DENVER — Conservation Colorado Education Fund, the largest statewide environmental advocacy organization in Colorado, invited Denver’s mayoral candidates to share their environmental vision for Denver and how they would lead to protect air, land, water, and people if elected to office.

“Denver voters have consistently supported nationally-leading climate policy at the ballot box. Denver’s next mayor has the opportunity to play an outsize role on the national climate stage and bring huge investments to the city for greener housing, transportation and clean air,” said Kelly Nordini, Conservation’s Colorado Education Fund CEO. “We look forward to working with whomever is elected to put Denver at the forefront of climate leadership.”

As the largest city in Colorado, Denver has an important climate leadership role to play, and the next mayor of Denver will be responsible for the city achieving its goal of 65% carbon pollution reductions by 2030 and 100% by 2040.

Conservation Colorado Education Fund does not endorse any candidate or specific candidate video, and the goal is to provide voters insight to candidates’ values and vision for key environmental issues in Denver. All 17 candidates running to be Denver’s next mayor were invited to submit a video explaining their environmental vision for the city, and nine responded. You can see all the videos here.
