Take Action Through Elections

As the state’s largest environmental organization working every day to protect our climate, lands, water, air and communities, we know that who is governor or in the state legislature or even the local mayor’s office matters.

With the ongoing federal attacks on climate action and clean energy, we cannot depend on the federal government to look out for the interests of Colorado’s air, water and land. Colorado needs leaders who will fight Trump’s attempts to give big polluters a free pass and to protect Colorado’s clean energy jobs from attempts to kill solar and wind development.

Conservation Colorado and our political committees recruit, endorse and help elect candidates at all levels of government who will stand with us to protect Colorado’s environment and communities.

In the last election cycle, we endorsed over 80 candidates — and 84 percent of them won their races!

Our democracy works best when everyone participates. There are elections every year in our state, so start by checking your voter registration and making a plan to vote, and encourage your friends and family to do the same. Then sign the Colorado Environmental Voter Pledge and support our work to educate and engage environmental voters.

Conservation Colorado continues to support elected officials after they take office by advocating for strong environmental policies to protect our climate, lands, air, water and communities. We hold state lawmakers accountable to ensure Colorado’s communities and environment are protected.

With your support, we will be able to run comprehensive voter education and outreach programs, whether that’s organizing a canvass, phone bank or other way to get people to the polls to vote for pro-environment candidates.
