We endorse and help elect candidates because leadership matters to enact the laws we need to protect Colorado’s climate, air, lands, water and communities. Conservation Colorado continues to support elected officials after they take office by advocating for strong environmental policies. Then we hold those elected officials accountable to the promises they made on the campaign trail.

We help them do it, and hold them to it.

How Does Conservation Colorado Hold Leaders Accountable?

To hold state lawmakers accountable, Conservation Colorado uses tools such as our legislative scorecard, which gives a clear, nonpartisan view of who’s leading when it comes to protecting Colorado’s climate, lands, water and communities.

We also use press coverage/outreach, constituent calls, mailings and other tactics to help highlight climate champions and show where decision-makers have come up short. We engage our membership throughout our cycle of accountability, including educating them on how their elected officials showed up during the legislative session and giving them opportunities to talk to their leaders directly about their record.

How Can You Get Involved?

Read our 2026 Legislative Scorecard when it is released in July and attend an event organized by our team to learn how your representatives voted on the issues that matter to you. Then check out Conservation Colorado’s primary endorsements and commit to voting in 2026 for leaders who will defend our communities and protect our air, water and land.
