BECOME A MENTOR FOR EMERGING CLIMATE AND COMMUNITY LEADERS
Support the next generation of leaders through Conservation Colorado’s Boards and Commissions Fellowship
ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP
The Boards and Commissions Fellowship supports emerging leaders from disproportionately impacted communities in building the knowledge, skills and networks needed to serve on boards and commissions across Colorado. Through trainings, mentorship and networking opportunities, fellows explore pathways to public service while advancing community-centered environmental and climate leadership.
WHY BECOME A MENTOR?
Mentors play a key role in supporting emerging leaders as they build confidence, strengthen their leadership skills and explore pathways to serve on boards and commissions. By sharing your own experience, you can help expand representation and foster community-centered leadership across Colorado.
COMMITMENT
✔ 2–5 hours per month from October 2026 to May 2027
✔ Monthly 1:1 meeting with the fellow you are mentoring
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Current or former boards and commission members who are passionate about mentorship and community leadership. We especially encourage people from directly impacted communities and those with underrepresented identities — including Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA+ community and people with disabilities — to apply to help strengthen representation and foster shared lived experiences with fellows.
Deadline to apply: Aug. 31, 2026
